Networking events in Peterborough

Networking has become an increasingly popular way to boost your business profile offline as well as generating awareness in your local community.

While “networking” is sometimes dismissed as a substitute word for selling, in reality a good networking event is a great way to develop relationships, trade new ideas, learn new skills and create opportunities.

Anyone can benefit from networking, particularly small companies, since a good network can provide useful information and potential leads. However, there are many different types of networking events so it’s important to know what type of people you want to meet and research where you’re most likely to find them. Below, we’ve gathered some of the most popular networking events in the Peterborough area to give you an idea of what’s on offer.

This event is an informal morning drop-in session held at various locations including the Ramblewood Inn, the Paul Pry and the Lakeside Kitchen and Bar. The purpose of this event is to provide a regular opportunity to unwind, share knowledge and connect with, not just local business people, but all kinds of individuals from the local community. This is generally held between 9.30-11:00am, however if this clashes with your working hours, then there is an earlier option from 6am - 8.30am. Admission is free. For more information visit

Peterborough Chamber of Commerce

Events are held monthly and the core focus is as much on building relationships, meeting new people and sharing ideas as it is about boosting members’ business profiles and generating sales leads. Due to the size and diversity of the network, almost anyone can join. There are also a wide range of seminars and workshops held for this event. However it is worth noting that there is a membership cost to join starting from £195. For more information visit:

The Business Club

The Business Club provides an environment for “go-ahead” business people to access whatever it is you need to help your business thrive and grow. This is held fortnightly at 26 Tesla Court and the event is organised into two parts. The first half allows members to socialise, while the second features a guest speaker discussing a relevant topic. The club prides itself on not just helping people sell, but also its ability to solve problems and give advice to its members. This is particularly suited to small to medium B2B companies. Cost is around £49 a month. For more information visit:

BNI Peterborough

This networking event is slightly different from the rest in that it only allows one person from each profession (or specialism) to join. The focus is on referrals so you are not selling to the people in the room but developing trust and long term relationships to help gain leads. Each week a different member gives a ten minute presentation about what their business is and every member is given a 60 second slot to report their latest updates. Meetings start promptly at 7.00am and finish at 8.30am – just in time to start the business day. For more information visit:
